Welcome to CIE Australia!

CIE Australia is the Australian National Committee of the International Commission on Illumination, also known as the CIE.  As its name implies, the International Commission on Illumination - abbreviated as CIE from its French title Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage - is an organisation devoted to international cooperation and exchange of information among its member countries on all matters relating to the science and art of lighting.

CIE Australia Lighting Research Conference 2023

The 2023 CIE Australia Lighting Research Conference was held on Tuesday 7th February 2023 at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, and online.  More details can be found on the CIE Australia Lighting Research Conference 2023 page.

On Monday 6th February, i.e. the day prior to the conference, there were two additional events:

 

CIE Australia 2023 AGM

The 75th Annual General Meeting of CIE Australia was held on Monday 6th February 2023 from 11:00 to 13:00 AEDT at UNSW Sydney and by WebEx.  More details at the following link.

 

CIE Brochure published

CIE Position Statement on the use of UV radiation to manage the risk of COVID-19 transmission

The CIE has released a position statement which details the risks associated with using ultraviolet (UV) radiation to manage the risk of COVID-19 transmission.  This important document is freely available for download from the CIE website.

 

CIE Australia News

CIE Australia has a news email distribution list which is used to distribute information such as CIE newsletters, announcements of conferences, workshops and new publications, etc.  It is freely open to members and non-members alike.  For more information please see the CIE News page.
