There are four types of memberships available with CIE Australia:

Student Membership
Student membership is intended to support those who are undertaking full-time study in an area relating to lighting and may not be able to afford Individual Membership.
A natural person shall be eligible to be considered as a Student Member of CIE Australia if they are a person who is:
- Undertaking full-time study for a certificate, diploma, degree, accredited degree, graduate certificate, graduate diploma, or higher degree qualification in a course with a focus on lighting.
- Is not employed in a part-time, full-time, or equivalent contracting or consulting position.
- Note, those in casual employment are eligible.
Student members receive copies of minutes, reports and CIE News and may purchase CIE publications and attend CIE Australia events and some CIE International events at discounted rates.
Student Members do not have the right to vote in CIE Australia elections.
Individual Membership

For professionals in the lighting industry, academics, government departments, and councils, and those in other areas with an interest in the lighting industry or the impacts of light.
Individual Members have full rights to participate and vote at meetings, received copies of minutes, reports and CIE News and may purchase CIE publications and attend CIE Australia events and some CIE International events at discounted rates.
Organisation Membership
For businesses, companies, organisations and departments who supply, service and collaborate with the lighting industry.
A representative from the organisation must be nominated as the contact person and receives the same benefits as an individual member on behalf of the ogranisation.
Two (2) additional representatives may be nominated as Individual Members without voting rights.
Organisation Membership (Sustaining)
Sustaining Membership provides much needed financial assistance to CIE Australia.
A representative from the organisation must be nominated as the contact person and receives the same benefits as an individual member on behalf of the ogranisation.
Four (4) additional representatives may be nominated as Individual Members without voting rights.
Sustaining Members have the right to announce the organisation’s membership and use the CIE Australia logo on their website.
